Seddon Statue

Richard John Seddon worked as a miner, storekeeper, and hotel proprietor on the goldfields before becomig Mayor of Kumara in 1877. In 1879 he entered Parliament and by 1893 he had risen to the position if Premier until his death in 1906. This memorial was erected in 1910
